Identification
Elongated cylindrical body reaching 9 cm in length. Thick lips, large eyes. Global coloration from pinkish-yellow to grey-brown with a “pi”-shaped marking on chin. Anal fin margin dark blue. Black markings on gill coverts.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, in most of southern Thailand and mainland Malaysia. Found in blackwater marshes and adjacent streams with deep soft substrate and lots of aquatic vegetation.

Status : Species more and more endangered from loss of habitat.
