Identification
The species grows to 3.6 cm. Slender body, bluish eyes. Anal and caudal fins with rounded edges. Male is reddish with conspicuous longitudinal band, dark red spotted fins. Female is duller with dark bands and yellow-marked fins.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia and is endemic to the states of Selangor and south Perak, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Found in blackwater marshes in peat swamp forests.

Status : The species has a very small range and is known from only 4 precise locations, the majority of them possibly impacted by habitat degradation.
