Identification
The species can reach 9,5 cm in length. Coloration bright pink to red with horizontal row of yellow dots on middle flanks. Broad and bright pink edges on elongated tail fin. Back with bluish to yellow longitudinal band. Elongated upper lip.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from Cocos Keeling Islands to Palau and Kiribati, north to south Japan, south to Great Barrier reef. Lives in steep outer reef slopes and drop-offs, from 6 to 70 meters deep.

Status : The species has a wide range and seems to remain common. It faces no threats at this time.
