Identification
Adults can grow to 6,6 cm in length. Small anthias species with globally reddish to pink coloration with dark dots on every flank scale. Males have bright yellow upper flanks and yellow lunate tail with pink edges. Snout often yellow.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Pacific ocean, from Fiji to Tonga, New Caledonia and possibly around Society Islands, Tahiti and maybe Micronesia. Lives around deep rocky reefs, from 30 to 773 meters deep.

Status : The species has a wide range and lives in deep waters where collection for the trade and habitat loss aren’t considered problematic yet.
