Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 13 cm. Upper lip pointy and elongated, dorsal fin displays elongated filaments. Coloration bright pink on head and lower flanks, orange-yellow on upper flanks and back part of body. Pointed caudal fin.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indian Ocean, from Red Sea and East Africa to the Maldives, south to South Africa. Lives in outer coral reef slopes, from 4 to 30 meters.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species seems to be at least locally common and hasn’t suffered from captures for the aquarium trade so far.
