Identification
Adults can reach 12,7 cm. Pronounced back hump. Coloration mostly light to dull beige, sometimes with a slight clear blue tinge on upper back. Lower flanks, snout, belly and fins yellowish. Black spot on tail peduncle and snout.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Atlantic Ocean, from south Florida to Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, Central American coasts, south to Venezuela. Lives in coral and rocky reefs, juveniles often in mangroves, from 7 to 25 m deep.
