Identification
Body color dark pinkish-grey with yellow head. Lower flanks and underside white with large black area below head. Two parallel black-edged blue lines on cheeks.
Range and habitat
Western Pacific ocean, from Okinawa (Japan) to Philippines. Found around coastal reef areas, over rubble, rocky and sandy bottoms.

Status : The species has a very small range and remains uncommon to rare. Population data are limited so far. It is locally caught for trade but numbers seem to remain low at this time.
