Identification
Very small goby growing to 3,9 cm in length. Large eye, lower lip slightly protruding. Coloration dirty grey to white with numerous vertical black bars of various width on flanks and face. Dorsal, anal and caudal fins mostly dark.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from Seychelles and the Maldives to Marquesas Islands. Its range is composed of very scattered locations. Lives in seaward reef slopes, rocky drop-offs and lagoons, from 8 to 30 m deep.

Status : The species large but very scattered distribution. It is occasionally collected for trade and collection levels need to be understood and monitored.
