Notes : No subspecies known.
Identification
Adults can reach 6 cm. Eyes with red and blue bands. First third of body orange with green tinge on face. Small patch with intricate wavy lines behind gill coverts. Rest of body purple-violet with rows of dark dots. Tail fin with orange edge.
Range and habitat
The species is only found in the western Indian Ocean, around the coasts of the island of Sri Lanka. Lives in reef areas (both rocks and corals), near caves.

Status : This species has a very small range. It seems safe so far.
