Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 5.5 cm. Bluish-gray coloration, sometimes with green tinge. Each flank scale has darker edges, back of head sometimes yellow, clear belly. Black edges to caudal fin, upper edge is longer.
Range and habitat
Scattered localities in the Indo-Pacific region, from Reunion and Mauritius islands to New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, north to Taiwan, south to Great Barrier reef. Lives in exposed coral and rocky reefs, down to 20 meters deep.

Status : The species’ populations are isolated from one another but the species remains locally very common and currently faces no known threats.
