Identification
The species grows to 9 cm in length. Body mostly bright lemon yellow, clearer on belly, with no visible spotting or edging on flank scales. Fins bright yellow with hardly visible orange-violet line on anal fin. Small dot on pectoral fin base.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean, from Andaman Sea to Fiji and Tonga, north to Ryukyu islands, south to Lord Howe Island. Lives in clear lagoons and seaward reefs, to14 meters deep.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range. Collection for the pet trade and habitat loss need to be monitored. The species’ populations are currently in decline.
