Identification
The species grows to 11 cm in length. Round-shaped laterally-compressed body. Coloration dark grey blue with black edges on fins, white spot on forehead and upper flanks. Golden yellow belly, anal and tail fins (with black edge).

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the eastern central Pacific ocean, around Phoenix islands, Line islands and Cook islands. Occurs around atolls, down to 30 meters deep.

Status : The species has a very small range but occurs in areas where habitats are still fairly intact and collection for trade is minimal.
