Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of nearly 12 cm. Coloration is shiny electric blue to blue-green with faint dark vertical bars and large black spots on flanks. Red scales sometimes present on abdomen. Males are bigger with longer fins.
Range and habitat
This species occurs in Central America and is endemic to Honduras, only occurring in the Rio Danli. Lives in small streams with stones for hiding and egg laying.

Status : The species has a very small range and its status remains unknown so far. It may be vulnerable to over trapping for aquarium trade.
