Identification
The species can reach up to 8 cm in length. Fairly deep body, large head. Semi transparent body with a silvery sheen. Small black dot near caudal peduncle and on gill coverts. Black tips on dorsal fins, fin edges shiny electric blue.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean, from south Borneo (Kalimantan), east to Papua New Guinea, northwards to the Philippines. Lives in mangroves and areas with brackish water, down to 3 meters deep.

Status : The species has a large range and remains common despite its habitat being under serious threat.
