Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Snout slightly elongated. Global coloration grey-white with dark edges and dot on scales. Black snout edge and curved black band from eye to back, broad black band at rear of body. Yellow fins.

Range and habitat
Eastern Atlantic Ocean, from Senegal and Cape Verde to Gulf of Guinea, south to Angola. Found around soft-bottom areas of the littoral, mostly at medium to great depths.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species is widespread and lives in deep water, making its capture for trade and food very difficult. It doesn’t seem to suffer from habitat loss or any other threat at this time.
