Identification
The species grows to 18 cm. High dorsal fin. Body color white with horizontal rows of yellow dots concentrated on middle flanks. Black face band, two broad vertical dark brown bands on flanks, light brown band near tail.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from the Andaman Islands to Solomon Islands, north to south Japan, south to Australia. Lives in outer reef slopes and drop-offs with coral growth, silty areas, to 30 m.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and occurs in a variety of habitats. It doesn’t seem to be facing any threats at this time.
