Identification
Adults can grow to 21 cm in length, females tend to be bigger than males. Very long face with black lines on snout. Small barbels at tip of lips. Coloration light greenish, greyier on belly with faint black-edged vertical bands, darker on back.

Range and habitat
The species is found in South-east Asia, from south Thailand to Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo. May be also present in Laos. Lives in lowland rivers, streams, marshes and legs.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and still at least locally common although it has declined dramatically in Peninsular Malaysia recently.
