Identification
Fairly small species, reaching 5.5 cm in length. Beige to light brown body with black eye-band, dark brown face and two broad saddle-like black markings on back. White belly with pinksh tinge.
Range and habitat
This species is found in South America and occurs mostly in the Peruvian part of Amazon basin, in the Cuzco region. Lives in slow moving rivers, marshes with slightly acidic waters.

Status : The species is safe at this time but its very small range coupled with collection for international trade could lead it to be threatened.
