Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Aduts can grow to 20 cm in length at least, probably more. The species is easily recognizeable by the numerous skin extensions looking like hairs and making the fish look like a clump of algae. Light coloration with brown blotches.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in south-west Pacific ocean and can only be found in coastal waters of southern Australia. Lives in inshore reefs with algae growth, down to 45 m at least.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species doesn’t have a big range but appears to remain safe as it can live at great depth. Could be vulnerable on long term to pollution.
