Identification
The species grows to 14,7 cm long. Body covered with skin extensions looking like clumps of vegetation. Coloration from light beige to orange-brown or greenish-yellow with clear mottling on flanks and fins. Fins green to black.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific region, from Singapore and greater Sundas to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Lives in inshore waters near coral and rocky reefs, to 52 meters deep.

Status : The species is common in its huge range where suitable habitat occurs. It is rarely collected for the aquarium trade but may be facing loss of habitat.
