Identification
Adults can grow to 5 cm in length. Wide but very short head with pointed snout, triangular body. Belly grey, back cream-brown with chevron-shaped black and brown bands on back and flanks. Brown bands on legs and top of head.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in south and south-east Asia, from southern China and Hong Kong to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Lives in forests, woodlands, cultivated fields, ponds and rice fields.

Status : The species has a large range and is adaptable, often being found in modified habitats, including near human settlements.
