Identification
Adults can grow to 7.7 cm in length although they’re usually smaller. Large frog with blunt snout. Coloration is dark brown to black with clear spots. Legs brown, belly cream to light beige. Two large longitudinal clear beige bands on flanks.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in most of Central Africa, from Senegal to Ethiopia, south to Kenya and Tanzania. Some records in other countries need investigation. Mostly found in savannas, around ponds and river banks.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species remains common in suitable habitat throughout its very large range. It is rarely collected for the pet trade and hunted in west Africa.
