Identification
The species reached up to 9 cm in total length, females being bigger than males. Large head with big eyes featuring horizontal elliptical pupils. Coloration beige-brown with light mottling and banding. Black horizontal band behind eyes.
Range and habitat
The species is found in Eastern Asia from the eastern half of China to Taiwan. It has also been introduced to Guam (Micronesia).Lives in subtropical forests and all kinds of secondary habitats.

Status : The species is adaptable and can live in man-made habitats as long as they are not overpolluted. Population declines have been noted, however, in many parts of the species’ range.
