Identification
Quite large frog species growing to 7.5 cm in length. Large eyes, round and flattened snout, long toes. Coloration is usually dark grey to grey-brown with clear-edged black blotches all over back and flanks. Red markings on legs.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in south-eastern Africa, from south Kenya and Tanzania to eastern South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Also occurs on Zanzibar island. Lives in savannas, grasslands and cultivated areas with water nearby, to 1400 m.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range and can tolerate living in a broad range of habitats. Collection for wildlife trade isn’t considered a big threat so far.
