Identification
Adults can reach up to 5 cm in length, females bigger than males. Eyes are dirty white with vertical pupil and a dark edge. Coloration green to brown with black spots on back. Orange to white belly, yellow feet lacking digital webbing.

Range and habitat
The species is found in Central America, in Costa Rica and Panama extending south to extreme north Colombia. It lives in humid forests, mostly on lower mountain slopes, near water.

IUCN RED LIST : CRITICALLY ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species has experienced dramatic declines leading to extinction of several population because of chytrid fungus and loss of habitat.
