Identification
The species can grow to about 6 cm in length. Broad but short snout with bony ridges on sides of snout and tympanum. Very warty skin. Coloration is dark red-brown, sometimes darker when adult. Reddish tinge on throat and upper belly.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in south-east Asia, from southern China to northern half of Vietnam, Lao and eastern Cambodia. Found in hilly forests, bamboo forests, near streams, from 400 to 1100 meters.

Status : The species isn’t considered threatened but its habitat is continually degraded by deforestation, pollution by agricultural expansion.
