Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 11 cm, males being slightly larger than females. Forelimbs are very short, eye ridge pronounced, skin warty on back and limbs. Coloration from reddish to yellowish, often with black band behind head.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia and is endemic to the island of Taiwan, occurring in most of the lowland and lower montane areas. It lives in broadleaf and mixed forests, orchards and plantations.

Status : The species is locally common and doesn’t seem to suffer from major threats at this time although habitat loss can be an issue locally.
