Identification
Adults can grow to about 1.8 cm in length, females being slightly bigger than males. Limbs are bright greenish-blue with black blotches. Rest of body is bright orange with elongated large black blotches forming bands.
Range and habitat
The species is apparently endemic to Peru and only occurs in an area of about 70 km around the city of Iquitos. Its taxonomic status is debated. Lives in sparse primary and secondary forests with lots of bromeliads, up to 120 m.

Status : The species’ status is still unclear as the species’ validity itself is debated. It could possibly become threatened because of its very small range.
