Identification
This species grows to about 3 cm in length. Unmistakable. Both sexes are similar but males have a vocal sac. Coloration is brown with numerous whitish round spots all around the body. Juveniles show greenish-white spots.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America where it is endemic to Peru, being found in the vicinity of Santa Rosa, in the foothills of the Cordillera del Condor. Lives in primary premontane forest at an altitude of 1000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is known from only one locality and it is highly vulnerable to deforestation. Illegal capture for wildlife trade can also be an issue.
