Identification
Adults can reach a length of 3.8 cm No sexual dimorphism in size. Skin looks slightly granular. Black ground coloration with yellow bands (sometimes broken bands) and spots on back and flanks.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America, from from central Venezuela and eastern Colombia to Guianas and north Amazonian Brazil. Lives in rainforests and forests at edges of hills, gallery forests, up to 1250 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species remains at least locally common within its range. It is thought to remain safe but has been heavily trapped for international trade.
