Identification
Fairly large species reaching up to 12 cm in length, females are bigger than males. Sharp-angled skin fold behind eyes, small spines above ayes. Skin smooth, grey to grey brown in color with black spots on tympanum, flanks and lips.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia, from south peninsular Thailand to Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo and Sumatra. Lives in shallow rivers, swamps in plantations and flat alluvial forests, to 150 m.

Status : The species is declining at a high rate because of deforestation but also over-collection for human consumption (food) and animal trade.
