Identification
The species can reach a body length of 4 to 6 cm. Large brown eyes, fairly small limbs. Coloration is variable, usually light beige with black and brown markings on flanks and bright green to yellow-green with black markings on back.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America and is endemic to Ecuador, being found between Imbabura and Chimborazo. Lives in montane forests, meadows, corn fields, from 2000 to 3500 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species was formerly common but has experienced a drastic decline during the past decades. The main threat is the near total loss of habitat.
