Identification
Adults can grow to 2.5 cm in length with no size difference between sexes. Most of the body is black with bright green top of head, first half of back, forelimbs and base of hindlimbs. Blue spots on belly. Hindlimbs are striped brown.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Madagascar and occurs in the north-east of the island around Anjanaharibe Chain and the Marojezy Massif. Lives in rainforests and forest edges, close to streams, up to 1240 meters.

Status : The species is very common to abundant in areas with suitable habitat. It is believed that the species could be declining because of habitat loss.
