Identification
Fairly large species reaching up to 3 cm in length, females being bigger than males. Back and top of head is greenish-yellow to mustard-colored. Flanks are black. Light bluish stripe above lips. Limbs are bright blue to brown-blue.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to a small area of southwest Madagascar, in the Isalo Massif between Grotte des Portugais to Ambatovaky and Sakavato. Lives in narrow areas of gallery forests near seasonal streams, in wet canyons.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a very small range and is known only from 5 locations, all of which are subject to habitat destruction and fragmentation.
