Identification
Adults can reach up to 8 cm in length, occasionally more. Flattened snout, large eyes and limbs with flattened margins. Coloration usually chestnut-brown to brown with faint barring on legs, yellow eye-ring and cream belly. Beige eyes.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the island of Madagascar and occurs as scattered populations in the eastern and central parts of the island, up to 1750 meters. Lives in primary and disturbed rainforests, banana plantations close to forests.

Status : The species remains common in most of its range so far but its habitat is being severely and extensively degraded so declines are expected.
