Identification
Adults can reach up to 12 cm in length. Broad triangular head with two spine-like projections over eyes. Coloration is usually brown, lighter on back and flanks, darker on belly. Two pairs of dorso-lateral skin folds. Unmistakable.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, from south Peninsular Thailand to Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo and nearby smaller islands. Lives in lowland and submontane rainforests, usually near streams.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is still locally common but remains vulnerable to deforestation and over-harvesting for the pet-trade which occur locally.
