Identification
Small horn-colored bill. Upper half of head to nape dark grey-black. Lower half of head and chin whitish, with green-grey tinge on breast. Yellow flanks. Fairly long green tail.
Range and habitat
South America, from north-central Bolivia to north-west Argentina. Found in dense shrubby areas, plantations, agricultural areas and mountain scrub, from 1800 to 3000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : Fairly common and adaptable to live in farmland, even when heavily managed. Traded in small numbers but this isn’t a threat. Remains uncommon to rare under human care.
