Identification
Green wings, yellow-streaked green thighs and undertail, bright blue head, dark belly. Bright orange breast and nape collar. Rest of nape dark blue with smaller orange streaks.

Range and habitat
Endemic to north Australia, from Kimberley to Gulf of Carpentaria. Introduced on Kisar (Indonesia). Found in riverine forests, woodlands, swamps and suburban parks.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is considered safe and is one of the commonest parrot species within its range. Introduced successfully to Indonesia. Uncommon in aviculture outside of Australia.
