Identification
Adults can grow to 25 cm in length, weight unknown. Unmistakable. Bill dark orange-red. Overall green plumage with slight yellow tinge on belly. Red cheeks, nape and breast with black edges on breast feathers, violet crown.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Indonesia and occurs on Sulawesi and nearby islands, including Talaud and Sangihe (probably escapees). Lives in secondary forests, swamp forests, woodlands and plantations, to 1500 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species can be apparently very common, even in plantations and near villages. It isn’t threatened so far even despite locally intense trapping.
