Identification
Plumage mostly bright red except from green wings, thighs and tail. Bright orange bill. Subspecies with little to no yellow patch on back and little to no yellow on bend of wings.

Range and habitat
Species endemic to Moluccas archipelago in Indonesia, subspecies only found on Halmahera and Widi. Occurs in canopy of primary and hill forests, rarely in plantations, to 1300 m.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix II
Status : Restricted-range species declining mostly because of intense trapping for both local and international trade. Nominate and flavopalliatus subspecies are mostly targeted.
