Identification
Small black bill with orange tip. Plumage mostly green with yellow flank patches and rufous nape. Turquoise-blue crown and cheeks, bright red forehead and ear-patch.
Range and habitat
Most of east and south-east Australia, Kangaroo Island and Tasmania. Found in open wooded countries such as Eucalyptus woodlands, even suburban areas.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : Very common within its mainland Australian range, rarer on Tasmania and Kangaroo Island but still safe there. Trade is reduced to a minimum, hardly exported from Australia.
