Identification
Adults can reach 55 cm in length for a weight of 975 g. Plumage white with light yellow undertail. Bright yellow curved and erectile crest. This subspecies is very large with no yellow on cheeks, yellow undertail and prominent blue eyering.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in New Guinea and nearby islands. Species found from west Papuan islands to New Guinea to north, east and south-east Australia. Lives in lowland forests, woodlands and cultivated areas, up to 1400 m.

Status : The species is common to abundant and considered as a crop pest. Insular populations are more at risk of being captured for trade.
