Identification
Adults can reach 30 cm in length for a weight of 247 grams. Thick white bill with bright orange cere. Orange feet. Subspecies with grey-green head, breast and back. Olive-green wings and tail with purple bend of wing. Yellowish undertail.
Range and habitat
The subpecies occurs in south-eastern Africa, from eastern Tanzania and Zanzibar to eastern Cape province in South Africa. Species found widely in subsaharan Africa. Lives in lowland and foothill forests, woodlands, savannas, swamps, mangroves.

Status : The species is still fairly common in most of its range but it is globally declining because of loss of habitat and hunting pressure.
