Identification
The species grows to 41 cm in length for a weight of 592 g. Pale grey head with white chin and clear eyes. Broad light pink collar with black lower edge, light grey belly. Wings and back dark brown with iridescent dark green flight feathers.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in most of New Guinea and nearby Aru, Salawati, Yapen, Karkar, D’Entrecasteaux, Basilaki islands and Louisiade archipelago. Lives in lowland rainforests, monsoon forests and forest edges, to 1900 m.
