Identification
This species can grow to 43 cm for a weight around 600 g. Head, throat, breast, belly and mantle pale silvery grey, with light pink tinge on breast and belly. Iridescent dark green wings, pink nape. Yellow eyes, black bill with white base.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Indonesia and occurs in scattered islands in central and eastern parts of the Archipelago, including Aru and Biak near New Guinea. Lives in primary and secondary forests, forest edges, cultivations, to 850 m.

Status : The species has a large range and is still common on a few islands. On other islands, it has been declining because of habitat loss and hunting.
