Identification
Large black bill with narrow clear base. Green plumage with yellow tinge on flanks. Red forehead, yellow crown, red nape, bright yellow throat, blue sides of head, thick and long black eyebrow.
Range and habitat
Southeast Asia, patchily in Peninsular Malaysia and most of the west side of Sumatra. Found in lower montane forests, orchards, plantations and areas with fruiting trees, to 2400 m.

Status : The species seems to be locally common but its biology is still poorly known. Studies are needed before its conservation status is to be reassessed. Locally caught for the trade, in small numbers.
