Identification
Adults grow to 26 cm in length for a weight of 85 g. Plumage olive-brown edged dark on breast. Wings yellowish with blue-grey flight feathers. Tail yellow-green with blue-grey tip. Black face with white markings on lower cheeks.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia, from Nepal and north-east India to a small area in central China, extreme north Myanmar and Vietnam. Lives in all kinds of mountain forests with bushy undergrowth, from 2300 to 4600 m.
