Identification
Adults can reach 34 cm in length for a weight of 46 g. Very long graduated tail with white tips. Bill long, narrow, slightly decurved and black. Plumage dark slaty-grey, black on wings with white blotch on flight feathers. Clearer belly.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia, from east Himalayas and Myanmar to central Vietnam, south Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra. Lives in broadleaf evergreen forests, second growth, open scrub, to 3000 m.
