Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 81.5 cm for a weight of 1.5 kg. Relatively small bill with blue cere. Small hanging wattle with red base, the rest being yellow or pink. Plumage entirely black with dark blue to purple tinge.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia and is endemic to the western and central areas of the island of Java, in Indonesia. Lives in montane and submontane broadleaf evergreen forests, from 900 to 2400 m.

Status : The species has a very small range but isn’t affected by deforestation for now. It is still numerous, even locally abundant.
