Identification
Adults can grow to 20 cm in length for a weight of 44 g. Long but thin black bill. Dark olive to grey brown mantle, becoming greyer on wings. Head mostly black with white supercilium. Rufous-orange throat, breast, belly and hindcollar.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in sub-Saharan Africa, from south Somalia and Gabon to most of Angola, east to Zimbabwe, Botswana and north-east South Africa. Lives in evergreen forest edges and thickets, riverine forests, woodlands, to 2400 m.

Status : The species is common to locally abundant in its large range except on the northern edges where it is rare. It doesn’t face any threats at this time.
